Founded in 2012 by industry veteran David G. Eber, Santa Maria Imports (SMI) is built on decades of experience in the global wine and spirits trade. Our mission is to combine the scale and strength of wholesale distribution with the hands-on dedication of grassroots brand building.
With offices in Miami and New York, and well-established distribution networks across major markets such as Texas, California, Illinois, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania, SMI delivers premium spirits and estate-bottled wines from some of the world’s most respected producers. We pride ourselves on offering both reach and reliability, supported by a strong infrastructure of staff and warehousing in key U.S. markets.

DAVID G. EBER
David G. Eber is a third-generation leader in the wine and spirits industry. Born and raised in Rochester, New York, he began his career in his family’s distribution business, quickly gaining sales expertise and advancing into senior management.
Over the course of his career, David has built a proven track record of launching and growing iconic brands, including Belvedere, Chopin, and Svedka vodkas; Hpnotiq Liqueur; Mionetto Prosecco; Ron Zacapa Rum; Vendange California varietal wines; and Cuvelier Los Andes premium estate wines from Argentina, among others.
He served as Vice President of Eber Bros. Wine & Spirits until 2004, before joining Southern Wine & Spirits of New York (a division of Southern Wine & Spirits of America, now Southern Glazer’s), where he held a senior management role at the nation’s largest wine and spirits distributor.
A graduate of the University of Houston with a degree in Business and Hospitality, David now lives in New York City with his two children.
