Caves Bernard-Massard is in Grevenmacher, on the Luxembourg bank of the Moselle. Founded by Jean Bernard-Massard and run by the Clasen family for five generations, it is Luxembourg's leading producer of traditional-method sparkling wine, exporting to more than 20 countries. The family also owns Domaine Clos des Rochers.

Cuvée de l'Écusson Brut is the house's flagship non-vintage sparkling wine, a blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc with smaller shares of Riesling and Pinot Noir. Its bubbles come from a second fermentation in the bottle, as in Champagne.

Tasting notes

The nose is elegant and lightly buttery, with fruit and citrus, and the palate is ripe and rounded, with good depth and length. It was named Best in Show at the 2017 Decanter World Wine Awards. Serve it well chilled as an aperitif or with light starters and seafood.
