BLACK LABEL The Kyoto

Japanese Malt Whisky — 48% ABV — 700 ml

The Kyoto Nishijin Ori Kuro Obi Black Label stands as a bold, refined expression of Japanese malt whisky artistry. Produced by Kyoto Shuzo Corporation at the Kyoto Miyako Distillery, it honors Kyoto’s heritage through both craftsmanship and design. The bottle is adorned with a handwoven black obi — crafted in the traditional Nishijin Ori weaving style — symbolizing strength, purity, and understated luxury.

Distilled from 100% malt and matured in select oak casks, the Kuro Obi Black Label offers remarkable depth and precision. The nose reveals notes of roasted nuts, cacao, and dark caramel, followed by traces of incense and Japanese cedar. On the palate, it unfolds in layers of rich malt sweetness, black tea, and spiced oak, finishing with lingering warmth and subtle smokiness.

Its character is distinctly Kyoto — elegant yet powerful, blending tradition with modern refinement. Bottled at 48% ABV, it captures both the purity of the distillery’s mountain water and the complexity derived from slow, temperature-driven maturation.

The Kyoto Nishijin Ori Kuro Obi Black Label represents more than a whisky; it is a sensory portrait of Kyoto’s dual spirit — serenity and strength, balance and depth. Each sip evokes the quiet confidence of Japan’s finest craftsmanship, woven into liquid form.
